Welcome

8th February 2012 -

Each week Crime Stoppers highlights a crime that has been committed in our area, this week Crime Stoppers, SD&G OPP and the Cornwall Community Police Service are advising the public to aware of people going door to door asking for donations. These people are stating that they are connected to a reputable charity and requesting cash donations. If you have someone come to you residence, ask to see their identification, do not let them into your home, don’t be pressured into providing money and never give any bank or credit card information.

Crime Stoppers, SD&G OPP and the Cornwall Community Police Service are advising snowmobilers and ATV enthusiasts that due to the fluctuating temperatures they should stay away from lakes and rivers. As well, please do your part in keeping the trails safe by riding responsibly, drinking and riding is a criminal offence. If you see an operator that is making unsafe decisions take a description and make the call.

If you have information on this or any other crime, please call Crime Stoppers at 1 800-222-8477 or you can submit a tip on line at www.seawayvalleycrimestoppers.ca

Remember we don’t need your name, you will remain anonymous, we don’t have call display, you don’t have to appear in court, and you could be eligible for a cash reward of up to $2000.

CRIME STOPPERS ATTENDS HOME & TRADE SHOW

(South Dundas) – On 5th&6th May2011 Seaway Valley Crime Stoppers attended the Home & Trade Show held in Morrisburg, On.

The show was well attended, the coordinator of the Crime Stopper Program OPP Constable Peter Robertson advised “shows like these help us provide the public with important information on how our program operates and reinforces the fact that anonymity is the key to success”.

A large part of the success of the program is attributed to the twelve member volunteer board that contributes their time and puts forth a great deal of effort to reach their yearly goals.
